Dee Dee Bridgewater & BJO

Three Grammy Awards, a Tony Award, a nomination as a UN Goodwill Ambassador... A native of Memphis, Dee Dee Bridgewater is not only a world-class jazz singer, but also a producer, record label executive and talented actress.

Having started out alongside legends such as Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Dizzy Gillespie in the 1970s, Dee Dee Bridgewater has carved out a career that reflects both her attachment to traditional jazz and her openness to other musical worlds such as rhythm ’n’ blues, soul, gospel, soul, funk, Malian music and more. At Bozar, her uniquely distinctive voice will be amplified by the talents of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra – an impressive new collaboration for the Belgian big band after its double bill with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in 2020.
